I currently work at Oxford University Computing Services on the Erewhon Project.
I am lead developer on the University's mobile portal, Mobile Oxford, a web application based on the Django framework, and which consumes data from sources across the University and city.

Over the Summer of 2008 I worked as a Technology Summer Analyst in the GMIST department of Merrill Lynch.
While there I worked in both developer and BA roles, and received an offer of a place on the graduate program.
Maplecroft is a rapidly expanding corporate social responsibility consultancy based in Bath.
Below is the testimonial from my time at Maplecroft.
Alex spent 3 months with us in the software development team during the summer 2007.
He was responsible for developing both ends of a client-server application for one of our customers, from clarifying requirements through to deploying and supporting the finished application. During the project he learned two new programming languages — Python and Actionscript 3 — and their associated development frameworks.
We found Alex to be extremely productive: quick to learn and a fast and accurate coder. He has a good knowledge of computing and software development, and is able to draw on this in suggesting possible approaches to tasks. He is also cheerful and helpful: he fitted straight into the existing team with ease, and even won praise from the customer for his responsiveness.
We would be very happy to have Alex here again, for temporary work or in a permanent role.
